Our weekly Strength & Balance Class is designed to help you improve your strength, balance, mobility and confidence in a safe, friendly and supportive environment. Held weekly near Joydens Wood, close to Dartford and Bexley.

Led by an experienced Physiotherapist, each session uses evidence-based exercises to help you stay active, reduce your risk of falls and make everyday activities easier.

Whether you're recovering from illness, living with a neurological condition, managing reduced mobility or simply want to improve your fitness and confidence, this class is designed to meet you where you are.

Group Dance Class

Who is this class for?

This class is suitable for adults who:

• Feel unsteady on their feet
• Have experienced a fall or are worried about falling
• Want to improve their balance and confidence
• Would like to increase their strength safely
• Are recovering from illness or injury
• Live with neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis or Stroke
• Simply want to remain active and independent

What to expect

 

Each one-hour session includes:

 

• Gentle warm-up

• Strength exercises

• Balance training

• Functional exercises to improve everyday activities

• Cool down and stretching

 

Exercises are individually adapted, meaning everyone can work at their own level regardless of ability or previous exercise experience.

Your class is led by an experienced Physiotherapist who works within an NHS Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team and has extensive experience helping people improve mobility, balance and confidence. Every exercise is based on current physiotherapy evidence and can be progressed or adapted to suit your individual ability. Our aim is simple, to help you move better, feel stronger and stay independent.

Location: St Barnabas Church, Joydens Wood, Kent

 

Day: Thursday evenings

 

Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

 

Cost: £12 per session:

 

Booking Places are limited and advance booking is required.

Do I need to be fit?

 

No. The class is suitable for a wide range of abilities and exercises can be adapted to your needs.

 

Can I use my walking aid?

 

Absolutely. Walking sticks, frames and other mobility aids are welcome.

 

What should I wear?

 

Comfortable clothing and supportive footwear suitable for exercise.

 

What should I bring?

 

A bottle of water and any mobility aids you normally use. If you cannot independently mobilise please bring a relative or friend to assist you.

 

Is there parking?

 

Yes, parking is available at St Barnabas Church.

 

What if I have a medical condition?

 

Please let us know when booking. We can advise whether the class is suitable or arrange an individual assessment if required.
