Home Visit Physiotherapy: What to Wear, What to Prepare, and How to Get the Most From It

If you’ve booked (or you’re thinking about booking) a home visit physio appointment, you might be wondering what you actually need to do to prepare. Good news: it’s simple — and a few small things can make the session much more useful.

What to wear

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in

  • Shorts if we’re looking at hip/knee issues (if you’re comfortable)

  • A vest/t-shirt if we’re looking at shoulder/neck

What to have ready (optional)

  • Any scan reports or discharge letters

  • A list of meds (if relevant)

  • Your main questions (write them down)

How to get the most from the session

  • Tell me what you want to be able to do again (your goal)

  • Show me the movements that trigger symptoms

  • Be honest about what you can realistically do between sessions
